If you have curly hair you’ve most likely struggled from time to time to find the best hair products and hair regimen for your curls. From serums, to creams and gels, to an assortment of shampoos and conditioners, having curly hair can at times be a challenge. You might have gone through your fair share of products and may even have a story or two about trying to tame your hair!

As vegans, we have even less options for curly hair products since the goal is to avoid products that contain animal ingredients. Additionally, you’ll want to search for cruelty-free products, those that have not been tested on animals. However, never fear, there are a ton of great vegan friendly and cruelty-free curl products on the market to help you achieve beautiful curls!

I’ve been using Aveda’s Be Curly Curl Enhancer for a number of years and I have to tell you that it’s one of my favorites. With a wonderful scent and lightweight feel, this product creates beautiful curl definition. Aside from the curl enhancer there are several other Be Curly products in their line. Although Be Curly is a bit pricier than other similar products, in my opinion it’s worth the extra cost. You can stop by an Aveda store to get free a sample to try it before making a purchase.

If your hair needs a little boost check out the  Leave-in Argan Oil Treatment by DermOrganic. This treatment not only protects your hair and gives it shine, it also speeds up drying time!

Strictly Curls Curl Envy Curl Cream by Marc Anthony is another great curl enhancing product. Although this company does not test on animals, not all of its products are vegan-friendly, though Curl Envy is. If you’d like to try more Marc Anthony products make sure to avoid products which contain collagen or hydrolyzed keratin as these are derived from animal ingredients.

Camille Rose Naturals Curl Love Moisture Milk gets great reviews for curly hair. Don’t be confused by the name, the ‘milk’ in the product as it does not actually contain milk. With a scent that’s like a rich dessert, this curl enhancer does not disappoint! You can apply to dry, wet, or damp hair.

Curly hair often means dry hair, that’s why it’s so important to keep your hair moisturized to achieve better curly definition. If your hair needs a little pick me up try Darcy’s Botanicals Cherry Kernel Nectar Hair & Body Oil . With a scent of black cherries and a light feel, this oil contains not only antioxidants, but vitamins as well. Great for hair and skin.

Aside from the products listed above we found a plethora of other cruelty-free and vegan curly hair products available. Regardless if you have curly hair or not, it’s important to shop for beauty products which have not been tested on animals and do not contain ingredients derived from animal products.
